Summer 2023 has just recently begun, and bike season is in full swing. However, using fat tire electric bikes, you will not depend on the time of year, because you can ride all year round on any terrain.
For example, the PVY Z20 PLUS and PVY Z20 PRO e-bikes are good for both urban and off-road rides, for long distances up to 120 km.
Let’s talk about the main features of the new PVY electric bikes and the differences between the Z20 Pro and Z20 Plus models.
Design
You know, the PVY Z20 PLUS and PVY Z20 PRO electric bikes have a similar aggressive and brutal appearance, but there are many differences in design.
The e-bikes have 20-inch tires, but the wheel thickness of the Plus model is 4 inches, while the Pro version of the PVY Z20 electric bike has a 2.3-inch tire thickness. Thus, the PVY Z20 Plus will be more comfortable for off-road riding.
However, the main advantage of the Plus model is the dual suspension system. The manufacturer calls it a triple suspension system because the third one is a shock-absorbing seat, but I consider it a bit of a cheat.
Anyway, the front 160mm hydraulic shock absorber and 30mm mechanical shock absorber make this electric bike very comfortable to ride on any surface.
The PVY Z20 Pro e-bike has only a front fork shock absorber.
You should also know that PVY Z20 Plus is more massive and heavy than PVY Z20 Pro. The weight of the Plus model is 29kg, while the Pro version is only 22kg. However, both electric bikes have a folding design, so you can transport them in the trunk of your car.
The PVY Z20 Plus also has a higher maximum load of 150kg, while the Pro model has a maximum load of 120kg.
As I already said, the new PVY electric bikes are good for riding at any time of year, because they have IPX5 waterproof rating.
Motor
Now let’s talk a little bit about the specifications of electric bikes.
First, both e-bikes fully comply with European laws and regulations, so they have 250W motors. However, if you live out of Europe, you can unlock the motor.
PVY Z20 Plus is available in 500W and 1000W unlocked motor versions. Therefore, the maximum speed will be different for them – from 25km/h to 45km/h.
By the way, PVY Z20 Pro has a torque of 50Nm, while the PVY Z20 Plus has 80Nm torque for the 500W version and 100Nm for the 1000W version. It will definitely be more interesting to ride on the Plus model of the PVY Z20 electric bike.
Transmission
The new electric bikes also have a different speed system. PVY Z20 Pro comes with a Shimano 6-speed system, while the PVY Z20 Plus has a Shimano 7-speed transmission.
Battery and Range
You know, PVY Z20 Pro is more compact than the PVY Z20 Plus, so I am not surprised that it has a smaller battery. It has a capacity of 10.4Ah and a maximum range of 80km.
As for the Plus model of the electric bike, the battery is different on the 500W and 1000W motor versions. The bike with a 500W motor has a 14Ah battery, but when you buy an electric bike with a 1000W motor, it will have a 16.5Ah battery. However, the maximum range is the same on these bikes – up to 120km.
Price
As you can see, PVY Z20 Plus has a more powerful motor, a bigger battery and a longer range, dual suspension, and some other advantages over PVY Z20 Pro. However, it is also more expensive.
You can buy PVY Z20 Pro for only $799, while the price of PVY Z20 Plus starts from $1299.
Which to choose?
Now you need to decide for what purpose you need the bike. If you plan to ride off-road, then your choice should be the PVY Z20 Plus, because it has a dual suspension and a more powerful motor.
However, PVY Z20 Pro is a great electric bike for long-distance city riding. I think it has no competitors in its price.
